Many food enterprises have encountered leakage in glass bottles. After checking the materials of the bottle bodies and caps, no problems were found. The root cause of the problem is actually the mismatch between the canning process and the model of the sealed bottle cap, which is a leakage trigger that is easily overlooked by purchasing personnel. Metal sealing caps on the market are divided into high-temperature dedicated caps and low-temperature dedicated caps. The temperature resistance and sealing effectiveness conditions of the two are completely different. Mixing them will directly cause the loss of sealing ability.

High-temperature cooking products (pickles, canned goods) must be equipped with high-temperature resistant sealing LIDS. The sealing rubber layer of such LIDS needs to be continuously maintained at 121for 30 minutes for the rubber layer to fully adhere to the bottle mouth and form a complete airtight layer. If the high-temperature cooking process is concealed during procurement and low-temperature ordinary bottle caps are selected, the rubber layer will soften and deform during high-temperature sterilization. After cooling, it cannot return to its original shape, resulting in gaps at the bottle mouth and rapid vacuum loss. After being stored for a period of time, oil leakage and soup leakage will occur.

Conversely, for low-temperature canned products such as beverages and cold mixed sauces, if the wrong high-temperature special caps are purchased, leakage will also occur. The high-temperature cap rubber layer is harder, but it lacks elasticity in low-temperature environments and cannot fit the tiny gaps at the mouth of ordinary glass bottles. After vacuuming, the seal is not firm, and it is very easy for air to enter after bumpy transportation. Many purchasers have a misunderstanding that high-temperature covers have better performance and blindly choose them regardless of the process, which instead leads to a large number of defective products.

When purchasing glass bottles and matching bottle caps, it is necessary to truthfully inform the manufacturer of the filling temperature and sterilization duration, and the manufacturer will match the corresponding model of sealing caps. At the same time, complete the small-scale trial production test, simulate the complete sterilization and storage process, and observe whether the safety button of the bottle cap stably sinks and does not rebound. Only by standardizing the matching of bottle caps and production processes can leakage and loss caused by model mismatch be completely eliminated, ensuring the stability of finished product storage.
