In-stock bottles vs. Custom Bottles: Delivery Time Comparison and Project Scheduling Suggestions

The beverage industry is highly sensitive to the timing of going public. Missing out on festivals, exhibitions, and peak seasons will significantly reduce marketing investment. The delivery time of glass bottles is a key consideration in procurement. The process for in-stock glass bottles is simple. When there is sufficient inventory, they can be dispatched within a few days at the fastest. Even if deep processing such as spraying, baking, and sandblasting is required, the overall delivery time is mostly controlled within 15 to 30 days. The process is stable with few variables, making it suitable for urgent supplementary orders or short-term new project launches. It does not require going through the processes of mold design, mold opening, sample testing, and mold modification. The factory production line operates continuously in a rolling manner, making scheduling easier to coordinate.

The cycle of custom mold-making bottles should be divided into two stages: the mold-making and sample-making stage + the mass production stage. After the drawings are confirmed, the mold processing, trial mold, and sample confirmation usually take 35 to 50 days. Complex irregular-shaped bottles and bottles with embossed bodies take even longer. After the sample is confirmed and approved, the production of bulk goods will be scheduled. Generally, from project initiation to the delivery of bulk goods, it takes 70 to 90 days. If there are sample adjustments or mold modifications in the middle, the cycle will continue to be prolonged. The delivery time for repeat orders of private molds will be shortened to 30 to 45 days because the molds have already taken shape.

When a brand is making project plans, it should reserve buffer time. Priority is given to in-stock bottles during the rush period. Deep processing can also be used for logo and surface finishing. If you are pursuing an exclusive bottle shape, you must start the mold-making project 2 to 3 months in advance to avoid delaying the market launch rhythm.
